Youth Volunteer Surrey Memorial Hospital Summer Program 2017

Surrey Memorial Hospital will host the Youth Volunteer Summer Program . This program provides an opportunity for high school students to volunteer and learn more about healthcare in Surrey.  Besides the satisfaction of helping others, the students will gain valuable work experience, learn about health care careers and form relationships that could have a lasting impact on their life and career choice.

Youth Program applicants must currently be in grade 11 or 12, and be between the ages of 16 to 19 years old. They also have to commit to a regular 2 – 6 hour shift, once a week, for the entire summer from July 4th to September 3rd 2017. In addition, they must be able to communicate effectively and be capable of working with people of various ages, backgrounds and abilities.  The applicants must also take initiative and be able to, at times, work with minimal supervision.

Completed applications must be sent by mail or courier only, to SMH Volunteer Resources 13750 96th. Avenue, Surrey BC. V3S 8P1 by the due date: Thursday, April 27th 2017 @ 4:00pm.The short-listed applicants will attend an interview and those selected for the program must attend a mandatory General Volunteer Orientation on Thursday, June 29th 2017 from 2:30 – 8:00pm.
